One afternoon recently, on a walk in the Albères between Laroque and Sorède, a commotion in the trees turned out to be a small bird pursued by not one but two sparrowhawks.
A flurry of acrobatics followed as the prey ducked and dived and its hunters nearly collided. Over in seconds, I couldn't tell if there was a kill. But I never knew sparrowhawks hunted in pairs!
